Our client is seeking to engage an APS 5 Policy/Program Officer
Location: Canberra, ACT
Employment: 6 months, with option to extend up to 6 months
Eligibility/Security Requirement:Must be able to obtain Baseline level security clearance.
Our client is seeking an individual to join the Planning and Performance Team for 6 months to support the delivery of corporate publications, in particular developing processes, and content for the new Commonwealth Climate Disclosure in the 2023-24 Annual Report.
The candidate would be expected to do the following with general direction set by the relevant EL1:
- Gather and maintain an understanding of the new Climate reporting requirement to support the team to comply in the Annual Report, including attending relevant community of practice and interdepartmental discussion forums.
- Prepare guidance material and templates for staff across the department related to the development of corporate publications, in line with requirements under the Commonwealth Performance Framework and the new climate disclosure requirements.
- Assist with the development of documents for review and publication.
- Liaise with corporate and policy areas in the department to collate and/or support the development of content, as well as external stakeholders to on project-related matters, including Department of Finance and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
- Identify and escalate risks to the quality, completeness or timeliness of assigned tasks that contribute to objectives of the team.
- As needed, support the delivery of work across the team including the preparation of performance information in the 2023-24 Annual Performance Statements (within the Annual Report) and the next Portfolio Budget Statements and the Corporate Plan.
