The Role

Reporting to the Lead for Research, Policy, and Government Relations, you will lead in analysing evidence and supporting resources needed to achieve a positive and sustained difference to the early childhood education system; with responsibility for researching and analysing key issues and applying this research to policy issues, preparing resources to communicate this work.

You will also play a key role in implementing the whole-of-organisation monitoring, evaluation and learning strategy to support The Front Project in collecting and analysing data to showcase impact and progress against organisational strategic imperatives.

You will do this by:

  • Researching, analysing, monitoring, and synthesising a diverse and emerging range of issues related to early childhood government policy
  • Producing public-facing reports and fact sheets, policy and evidence briefs, research summaries tailored to a variety of audiences
  • Supporting in-house and commissioned research and policy projects across different streams
  • Developing and maintaining relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders

Skills Required

You have experience in a similar or related policy position where you have analysed policy issues, ideally within a public policy setting or in the not-for-profit sector.

Importantly you can demonstrate:

  • A capacity to critically analyse research and policy issues, and quickly develop a good understanding of new and complex ideas or topics
  • Communication skills to frame and translate evidence into clear and compelling narratives
  • Stakeholder relationship building skills, organisational and project planning experience
  • Understanding of the Australian media and political landscape is highly desirable
