Job description

Fixed Term Appointment x 4 (each 0.5 FTE) for up to 12 months with possible further term and/or permanency

Central Regional TAFE is responsible for delivering customer focused, industry aligned training and pathways to higher education to build a skilled, productive and employment ready workforce. We deliver 185 courses to 10,000 students each year in the Mid West region - Geraldton, Batavia Coast Maritime Institute and Technology Park, the Gascoyne region - Carnarvon and Exmouth, the Goldfields region – Kalgoorlie and the Wheatbelt region - Northam, Merredin and Moora.

About the role
These positions are responsible for the operational management, including the human, financial and physical resources for training delivery within the assigned training delivery areas.
Working closely with Portfolio Managers and fellow Portfolio Training Coordinators, these positions contribute to the efficient delivery of training and the achievement of key business outcomes.
To be successful you will ideally have demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to build, manage and sustain productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
You will also have the ability to achieve business objectives/project outcomes in an environment regulated by legislation and policy.
Furthermore, you will have current knowledge of legislative obligations applicable to Vocational Education and Training, Equity and Diversity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
You should also possess the following:

  • C or C-A Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • A successful criminal record screening clearance (Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check – Department of Education).

Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance. If this position involves contact with children, the recommended occupant will also be required to obtain a Working with Children (WWC) Card.
To be eligible for appointment applicants must have a working visa (for fixed term contract appointments) or permanent residency (for permanent appointments).
Over the next twelve months, candidates found suitable through this process may be offered appointment to similar & subsequent vacancies within the College, within other TAFE Colleges or across WA Government (subject to candidate permission being granted).
