About the opportunity
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for experienced allied health professionals to work within the PBS team as well as a larger a multi-disciplinary team, delivering behaviour support services to participants within the community within the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. With more control over your calendar you will have the opportunity to work from from your Home/Office & within the Community.
A week in the life of a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner at KEO
- Work with a participants care team, to gather information from multiple sources including workplaces, schools, support workers, therapists, and medical professionals.
- Conduct a holistic assessment of a person and their environments
- Staying curious while developing a hypothesis about what might be going on for the participant.
- Collaborate with the support network to ensure the plan is in line with the participant’s support needs and is understood by everyone.
- Report the use of restrictive practices and behaviors of concern directly to the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission when required
- Ongoing input and training for the person and their supports to ensure they are confident to carry out the Behavior Support plan.
- Attend team huddles, discipline specific and multidisciplinary case conferences, and a “KEO coffee club” each week
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to share knowledge and ideas
- Celebrate wins with your participants, families, your colleagues and leadership team

Skills and experience required:
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy or Psychology (equivalent or higher)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an allied health practitioner with a keen interest of working with people who use behaviours of concern
- Registered with governing body (AHPRA, SPA, PsyBA)
- Police Check
- Driver’s License and Car
- Working with Children’s Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check

This position will work within the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, with the closest office based from Carrum Downs.
