About the Role:
As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner based in Canberra, you will play a crucial role in delivering evidence-based clinical guidance and professional advice to individuals with disabilities, their families, and support teams, all within a Positive Behaviour Support framework. This part-time role (3 fixed days with some flexibility in hours) is work from home and in the community. There is scope to go to full-time in the future. Your mission will be to enhance the quality of life for our participants, eliminate challenging behaviours, and reduce restrictive practices through comprehensive PBS plans and effective stakeholder engagement.

Your Daily Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting assessments to identify the root causes of challenging behaviour and develop effective strategies and plans.
- Coaching and supporting stakeholders, including families, support workers, and managers to ensure they can competently implement support strategies and understand their responsibilities.
- Engaging in team meetings, clinical supervision, and group supervision.
- Implementing, capturing, and analysing data to monitor plan effectiveness, review challenging behaviour, and make necessary adjustments.
- Meeting task completion targets based on participants' needs.
What you need:
- Be registered as core or above according to the NDIS capability framework.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in providing Positive Behaviour Support.
- Possess knowledge and experience in working with challenging behaviour and intellectual disabilities.
- Hold a current driver's license and be willing to travel within Canberra to serve participants.
- Hold a current working with children's check, NDIS worker screening check, or be willing to obtain one.
- Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A qualification in allied health, social, or behavioural sciences.
- Experience working with individuals with high and complex needs.
- Registration with or working towards professional registration with BACB, ABAA, APHRA, etc.
