About the role
The School is currently recruiting for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Single Particle Spectroscopy to be part of the ARC funded Australian Laureate Fellowships Program &Upconversion Nanophotonic Systems& lead by Distinguished Professor Dayong Jin.
This Laureate Program aims to address major bottlenecks in upconversion nanotechnology - the efficiency, stability and absorption bandwidth. The main task of the incumbent is to maintain and integrate new modalities to our current setup of the Single Particle Spectroscopy system towards the discovery of new properties of hybrid upconversion nanosystems.
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will contribute to the development and delivery of teaching. Other responsibilities will include:
- Manage research projects
- Supervise research assistants and PhD students
- Undertake high quality research and produce quality research publications
- Acquire competitive grant funding
About You
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, it is essential you have knowledge and skills in in optical engineering, spectroscopy, and data analysis. You are a critical thinker, problem solver and can work autonomously and as a team. You will also have:
- PhD in optics engineering, nanophotonics systems, and spectroscopy
- At least two years of postdoc experience with string track records competitive for the ARC DECRA (or industry) fellowships
- Research experience in fluorescence microscopy, material characterization, and single nanoParticle Spectroscopy

Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $114,836 to $135,915pa (Level B, equivalent to Lecturer)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
The position is full-time and will be made on a 1-year fixed term basis with potential for further extension.
