This is a position for a postdoctoral Research Officer with experience in research conduct, analysis and preparation of research output. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about participating across a wide variety of research projects for academia and industry.
Key dutiesIn this role you will be expected to:
- Experience in molecular biology, preferentially in nanoparticle therapeutics.
- Strong track record of publications in cardiac biology or field relevant to cardiovascular biology or disease.
- Demonstrable evidence of desire and capacity to independently learn and apply new technologies or methodologies in research.
- Confident in performing a diverse range of laboratory techniques, ranging from preclinical work with rodents to molecular biology experiments, and able to do so autonomously as well as being part of a team.
- Perform functional assays (related to cardiac cell biology) to study their role in the context of cardiac repair and remodelling.
You will have:
Essential
- Experience in cardiac cell biology analyses and related functional assays.
- Experience in molecular biology, preferentially in nanoparticle therapeutics.
Desirable
- Experience in analysis of complex proteomic data (related to cardiac biology preferred).
- Experience in data processing pipelines using R and/or Python.
- Experience with preclinical mouse models such as myocardial infarction and other cardiac diseases.
- Experience in generation of functionalised nanoparticles.
- Experience in microscopy analyses, including confocal and multiphoton microscopy.
- Experience in histological methodologies, including immunohistochemistry or in situ hybridisation.
- Experience in managing students and staff.
- Experience in preparation of compliance documentations, such as ethics applications.
