The Team
The Delivery and Support Branch is responsible for leading, designing, planning, preparation and Delivery of federal elections, by-elections, and referendums by the AEC.
The branch designs and plans for future electoral events, develops, and delivers a number of key election critical capabilities and services that are fundamental to the delivery of an electoral event, and manages the delivery of the electoral event in line with the election timetable.
The Polling Place Technology (PPT) project is based within the National Event Management Section.
The Opportunity
The PPT Project Support Officer supports the Assistant Director in the day-to-day management and Delivery of projects relating to the conduct of an Electoral Event, within the Elections Branch. Their role includes participating in section planning for short term tasks and contributing to strategic planning for longer term initiatives.
This role will undertake project co-ordination functions, including related administrative tasks, on behalf of the PPT project, and assist Branch / State management team across a range of activities.
To excel you’ll have:
- Confidence and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority both in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrated experience providing highly organised coordination, governance, and administrative support, including the ability to prioritise work under pressure and competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in strategic planning and/or project portfolio management, including development and adaptation of strategies and Delivery plans, and Delivery oversight and support.
- Experience in contributing to event preparation, testing and Delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework.
- Well-developed computer skills, including strong experience with the Microsoft Office suite.
- AEC employees must be Australian citizens.
