Job description

  • Deliver decisive climate action
  • Full time permanent | Wonthaggi | Flexible and hybrid ways of working
  • $90,772 per annum, plus Superannuation

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in delivering one of Australia’s most ambitious local government climate action responses?

As the Climate Emergency Projects Officer, you will support Council and our community to take decisive action towards our Shire-wide target of net zero emissions by 2030.

You will contribute to initiatives that reduce emissions across the Shire, and help our community adapt to the challenges and opportunities of a changing climate. Join us in developing, delivering, and evaluating high impact projects and programs, and fostering strong collaborative partnerships to achieve the key objectives of our Council Plan and Climate Change Action Plan.

A BIT ABOUT YOU:

To thrive in this role, you will have a strong foundation in programs that shift business as usual towards more sustainable settings. You know there are no silver bullets, but are comfortable taking the lead, engaging multiple stakeholders, and bringing others with you as you fashion creative and inclusive responses to wicked problems. Your idea of a great day at work includes contributing to effective strategies, implementing impactful initiatives, and driving meaningful change in response to Climate Emergency.

You’re adept in project management, specialising in research, data analysis, continuous improvement and evaluation; and confident to coordinate reporting on our fully integrated Climate Emergency response across Council.
