Practice manager or highly competent and experienced medical administrator (part time or full time)
Our vibrant little Eastern suburbs community medical practice is searching for a professional, experienced and capable individual to fill the position of Practice Manager.
The Practice Manager will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and happy operations of the clinic as well as working towards the development and growth of our already successful practice.
In this vital role the successful applicant will act as an ambassador to patients and the general community whilst supporting clinical staff and leading the administrative team.
The clinic family you will be joining is a small to mid-sized practice with an ever-growing patient base and is ideally situated attached to a pharmacy with which we enjoy a unique collaboration. Practice Manager responsibilities and duties.
- Manage rosters and medical appointment book and ensure daily routines are being upheld and completed by all staff.
- Ensure office is opened and closed daily as per established schedules.
- Interview, hire and train new staff in accordance with guidelines.
- Regularly review productivity such as creating reports and making recommendations as needed.
- Monitoring quality of work and ensuring optimal service and attention to detail is being maintained by reception staff.
- Manage patient accounts, financial reporting and payroll in co-ordination with external book keeper. Management of clinic billings and resolution of Medicare claims, along with debtor management.
- To have experience in and be instrumental in maintaining our Accreditation.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and annual performance evaluation for reception team.
- Implement and monitor administrative systems with our IT systems, ensuring data security and system efficiency, including monthly update of our programs.
- Promote a safe workplace and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Management tasks in PRODA, including filing of PIP/WIP statements.
Practice Manager qualifications and skills.
The successful applicant will need to have 3+ years’ experience in medical office management. A degree or certification in healthcare management is not required but of course will be well regarded. Overall, we require someone who is knowledgeable in Medicare and medical billing, and resolving exceptions. Proficient in our systems of Medical Director and Pracsoft and someone who is highly competent with Microsoft office Suite (e.g. Excel).
