NSW Spine Specialists

We are currently seeking a friendly, dynamic Practice Nurse to join our busy team on the Mid North Coast, two Saturdays per month, plus another (flexible) day working from home per week assisting with clinic and surgery follow up calls. Our head office is located in Norwest and our two busy Spine Surgeons provide clinical services fortnightly in Taree. This is a casual or part-time time position which will suit a Nurse looking to up skill in private practice two or three days per fortnight. We are looking for a new team member who is reliable, professional and approachable, with excellent communication and administrative skills. This position is responsible for delivering a high standard of nursing and administrative support in a Specialist Spine Practice along side our experienced local administration staff.

Duties include:

  • Overseeing and guiding our patient’s treatment journey during 
  • Providing a strong foundation of support for patients and their families
  • Attending and assisting with scheduled clinics across the Mid North Coast 
  • Educating our patients on surgical and non-surgical treatment options
  • Providing appropriate contact and advice at critical milestones 
  • Building quality working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Essential Criteria:

  • Current NSW ‘Authority to Practice’ as a Registered Nurse
  • Current driver’s licence, own transport, ability to travel around the Mid North Coast (Taree specifically)
  • Minimum of two years nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, sound computer literacy
  • Excellent organisation, ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to accommodate rostered on-call work after hours and weekends
  • Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 in line with NSW Health directives for medical practice employees

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience in an Orthopaedic and or Spine Practice
  • Previous experience assisting in a clinic environment
  • A sound working knowledge of the Genie software system
  • Experience using medical software – Genie preferred but not essential
