AddressOcean Grove and Barwon Heads Medical Clinic located on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula, is pleased to invite applications for an experienced Practice Nurse (Lead) to join our practice on a Part Time basis working four days per week within the hours of 8am – 5.00pm. We are looking for a key team player to lead and support an experienced group of Practice Nurses and work collaboratively with our General Practitioners and administrative staff.
The practice provides a comprehensive, holistic, professional and caring medical service for patients in Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads.
The role involves clinical duties in conjunction with management and leadership responsibilities.
Your key duties:
- Managing a team of Practice Nurses with oversight of all clinical portfolios including:
- Treatment Room | Clinic
- Enhance Primary Care Plans
- Infection Prevention and Control
- Supply Management & Vaccine Clinics
- Cold Chain Coordination
- Accreditation
- Management of nursing roster and workload
- In collaboration with the Practice and Administration Manager ensure nursing schedules are effectively planned and utilised
- Ensuring effective triaging of patients and supporting the administration team in determining priority appointments
- Organisation of special clinics to offer immunisation programs
- Reporting on nursing activities to practice partners
- Managing patient care services and advocacy
- Conducting regular nursing team meetings
- Attending leadership meetings
- Fulfilling regular practice nurse duties including
- Improving patient health outcomes by utilisation of GPMP’s and Health Assessments
- Wound management
- Cardiac monitoring, ECG & Holter
- Collection of pathology samples
- Urgent care support as required
- Assist with treatment room procedures
- Patient education
- Coordinate and lead in house nursing education sessions and supporting nurses’ attendance at professional development sessions
- Conduct performance development reviews as scheduled with the Practice Manager
Our ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- AHPRA registered Practice Nurse with experience working in a busy General Practice
- Leadership skills
- Experience with Best Practice (desirable)
- Knowledge of GPMP’s and Health Assessments
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
- A passion for people and a personable approach
