Anglican Church Grammar School, known internationally as Churchie, is embarking on an exciting vision to ensure that the School remains at the forefront of boys' education. The Positions
We are seeking suitably qualified, motivated, and skilled EALD specialist for our Preparatory School (R - 6) to develop and implement responses to support teachers and parents with students needing English as an Additional Language.
The contract will be for Term 2 – Term 4. Part Time basis (2 days per week) commencing in Term 2, 2024
The successful candidate will have:
- Provide professional advice and professional development for all staff, to enhance their effectiveness in meeting English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) learners;
- Advocate for EALD students and their families in the school context, ensuring their needs are supported with regard to pedagogy, curriculum, policy, resourcing and culture;
- Develop and utilise appropriate evaluation techniques for formative assessment, and set and supervise summative assessment tasks;
- Ensure the ongoing assessment of EALD students in terms of English language acquisition
- Demonstrated ability to apply the planning, learning and assessing principles underpinning the disciplines;
- Proven excellence as a classroom practitioner, employing strategies that engage students with a variety of learning abilities, deploying group and individual learning options that sustain a literacy-rich curriculum and which use technology as a tool to enhance learning outcomes;
- Eligible to work in Australia, Qualified Teacher and registered with the Queensland College of Teachers.
All staff at Churchie are expected to support the philosophies of the School, the role requires registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
