Pricing Expert - Portfolio and Deposits

About the roleWithin the Retail Division, the Pricing CoE (Centre of Expertise) manages the Retail and Commercial pricing strategy. Our mission is to deliver pricing efficiently to our Tribes and Bankers to drive an exceptional customer proposition and ANZ's financial objectives.This role will sit across two teams (~50% each) within Pricing CoE - the Design, Strategy & Portfolio team, as well as the Deposits team.Role Location: MelbourneRole Type: Permanent, Full TimeWhat will your day look like (part 1): PortfolioThe Design, Strategy & Portfolio team is responsible for: a) setting pricing strategy and framework, b) leading longer term and / or strategic pricing projects, c) being the lead pricing partner for ANZ Plus, d) defining ANZ's multi brand pricing strategy (Classic, Plus, Suncorp) and e) leading activities related to portfolio level pricing and funding strategies.This role is dedicated to leading all portfolio related activities, including:Preparation of materials for monthly Asset and Liability Update (attended by GE Retail, GE Commercial, ANZ Treasurer and key members of their leadership team)Monitoring portfolio performance, including ongoing review of product level pricing, portfolio composition, external funding and competitive environmentContributing to dynamic balance sheet modelling to respond to market conditions and appetite, and making recommendations with a portfolio-wide view, with clear strategic and financial rationaleEngaging with Treasury to understand impacts of the wholesale funding cost environmentEngaging with Finance to understand the balance sheet outlook, portfolio impacts and financial implicationsIdentify process improvement opportunities and ensure pricing function risks are limited and mitigatedWhat will your day look like (part 2): DepositsThe Deposits team is responsible for driving deposit pricing and funding strategies across Retail and Commercial Divisions.This role will support the Chapter Lead - Deposits with:

• Maintaining a robust and reliable framework for pricing decision making
• Leading the monitoring of portfolio performance, taking into account pricing environment, portfolio mix, customer-level insights and margins
• Leading dynamic balance sheet modelling to respond to market conditions and business performance, including well-defined analysis to ensure decisions are based on facts
• Maintaining and driving a future-focussed agenda for pricing meetings with key stakeholders
• Ensuring the well-managed functioning of all operational aspects of Deposits pricing

What will you bring?Strong understanding of Retail or Commercial balance sheet and pricing, across lending and Deposits. This experience is typically gained from working Pricing, Treasury, Finance or Product Portfolio Management function in a Retail or Commercial bank.
