Wirraka Maya Health Services Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service designed to ensure our clients' journey through the health system meets their medical, health, social and cultural needs with a vision that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Pilbara have the opportunity to live a health life, with access to culturally appropriate, holistic primary and allied healthcare; social and emotional wellbeing services and education.


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation. As a vital member of our Clinic department located in South Hedland, you will play a key role in providing high-quality healthcare services to the local community.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients within the clinic setting.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Participate in health promotion and education activities for patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Adhere to relevant clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical practices and service delivery within the Organisation.

**Main Tasks:**

  • Provide direct nursing care, including wound dressing, vaccinations, and health assessments.
  • Support doctors and other healthcare professionals during medical examinations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with community members to promote culturally sensitive healthcare practices.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.

This is a permanent full-time position that requires an AHPRA registered practitioner with a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the health outcomes of Aboriginal communities. **Desired Skills and Experiences:**

  • Have Registered Nurse qualifications;
  • Have current and unrestricted APHRA registration with at least 3 years post graduate experience in nursing;
  • Have recent experience in midwifery/paediatric or Primary Health Care in an Aboriginal Medical Service setting;
  • Be immunisation certified.
