RAW Art Casual Position 2024 –
Primary school / Kindy Workshop Presenter - BRISBANE
Raw Art is a mobile Visual Arts service conducting hands-on Art Workshops in Primary Schools and Kindys around Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Sydney. We have successfully been in operation for 30 years, and have an extensive happy client base who book into our Program yearly.
Our program is structured to focus on the Visual Arts. We are looking for a BRISBANE – based casual workshop presenter. He/She/They needs to display an enthusiastic attitude, a love of working with children and great class management skills, along with a flexible schedule
ROLE DESCRIPTION –
- presenting workshops to 3- 5 year old children at various childcare centres/ ELC's/ Kindys around the Brisbane area + primary schools ( year Prep- 6)
- Following the RAW Art program/lesson plans, presenter will be running hands-on activities, giving students step by step instructions to create a specific art piece. 45 minute lessons with kindy age, 1.5 hour sessions with Primary age.
- Prepping of resources / some material preparation (our storage facility is based in West End)
- Liaising/Networking with Childcare educators/ teachers.
A storage facility is provided for equipment.
All resources are provided by RAW Art.
Training:
Training to commence ASAP.

Training will be observing lessons/workshop structure/equipment management, along with helping senior artists, and conducting classes under supervision.
RATES:
Pay rates during training ( 2 x weeks) will be - $30 per 45 minute workshop
After this 2 x week period Artist will be commencing workshops/duties at full rate
Artists are paid $33 per hour + super
Travel rate – if visiting centres that fall outside of a 45 minute radius from the city centre a $20 per hour travel rate is provided.
Work Volume –
We require an artist available most days - schedule may shift slightly each week.
( some of the centres required to visit are Auchenflower/ Carina/ Murrarie/ Mt Gravatt/ Logan)
Approx 8 - 15 hours per week
Please note - workshops mostly run within school terms only - there may be a few workshops during these times.
The applicant must –
- Be willing to travel – all workshops are conducted mainly within the Brisbane area
- Be based in the Brisbane area
- have a current drivers licence, and a reliable vehicle
- have a flexible schedule
- have a passion for the Visual Arts and Education
- love working with children
- enjoy physical and challenging work
- have a strong work ethic
- have a primary education background/ or Childcare experience, preferably with a visual arts focus
