Primary Teacher

About the Role:
Tradewind is collaborating with a small Catholic primary school in Sunshine, in Melbourne bustling West, offering a middle Primary teaching role, starting this term. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a community-minded teaching and learning environment. You'll work collaboratively within a small teaching team in a traditional classroom setting. The school is conveniently located near public transport and offers a supportive environment, specifically teaching Grade 4, with team teaching opportunities.

Key duties:

• Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
• Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
• Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
• Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.

Skills & Experience:

• Rights to work in Australia
• Current VIT registration
• Demonstrate previous experience in Primary teaching, although graduates are welcome to apply
• Commitment to Catholic ethos and school values
• Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

Offering:

• Teaching students in grade 4
• Team-teaching in part with one other class/teacher
• Contract till the end of the year with extension into 2025
• Salary based on proven experience ($75k-$115k)
