Job description

The Planning and Land Services group in the Department of Transport and Planning brings together land, property, statutory planning, building and heritage capability to deliver whole of state services. The Group’s focus is to provide services in land administration, property information and facilitating the better use of government owned land. The Planning and Land Services group also:
ensures secure and accurate registration services for property, land and water share transactions;
provides specialist transport property services including planning, acquisition and management of land and building assets; and
manages the state's planning, building and heritage systems to shape the places and communities of Victoria.
This is a fixed term role until June 2027
About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, the Principal Advisor, Housing Statement has a varied and challenging work program directed by the key strategic priorities and imperatives facing the Deputy Secretary and the Planning and Land Services Group.
The Principal Advisor (Housing Statement) is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the coordination, monitoring, and governance of a complex program. Serving as the primary point of contact, this role liaises with internal and external stakeholders, oversees implementation plans, monitors initiative delivery, and tracks budgetary performance. They collaborate with Portfolio Management Office to provide reporting dashboards and develop Cabinet submissions to report on program progress. The position provides secretariat services for various high-level meetings, including those with ministers, advisory bodies, and interdepartmental committees.

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory Experience
Outstanding project leadership skills and demonstrated experience in delivering, at a senior level, high impact strategic advice for Ministers and senior executives.

Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
