We are currently seeking to fill the position of Principal Assistant Ombudsman Reportable Conduct. This opportunity will be a five (5) year fixed term appointment with the possibility of extension.
About the Western Australian Ombudsman
The office of the Ombudsman has six principal functions. The office:
- Receives, investigates and resolves complaints about State Government agencies, local governments and universities;
- Reviews child deaths and family and domestic violence fatalities;
- Undertakes own motion investigations;
- Undertakes a range of additional functions, including statutory inspection and monitoring functions;
- Undertakes the Reportable Conduct Scheme; and
- Is the Western Australian Charitable Trusts Commission.
The Ombudsman also undertakes the role of the Energy and Water Ombudsman.

The staff of the Ombudsman’s office are its key resource. The office supports professional development through education and training and flexible work arrangements may be negotiated.

This Position
The Principal Assistant Ombudsman Reportable Conduct, under the direction of the Ombudsman, provides leadership for the functions of the Reportable Conduct Scheme and the Charitable Trusts Commission. The role also provides specialist advice and high level strategic support to the Ombudsman and has responsibility for the conduct of serious, complex or sensitive investigations and special projects.
