About the roleThe Department of Government Services is looking for a talented and motivated
Principal Business Analyst to join the Strategic Partnerships, Analytics and Innovation (SPAI) branch. The
Principal Business Analyst is responsible for working closely with senior stakeholders to build new partnerships, and lead and shape the business analysis practice in SPAI. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in standard business analysis functions, working with senior stakeholders to build long term projects and/or programs and contributing to business analysis reform programs.
Key accountabilities include:- Develop and contribute to documentation such as business cases, investment proposals, benefits realisation plan, business requirements, functional requirements, roadmaps, resource plans and provide input to a range of other project deliverables.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement by conducting system and process analysis activities.
- Work with senior stakeholders to understand their business needs and objectives to establish long-term partnerships formed on mutually aligned goals and values.
About youAs our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Appropriate qualifications and certifications in a related field
- Familiarity with data management concepts and practices
- Familiarity with BI and data exploration platforms (PowerBI, Tableu, etc)
- Understanding and experience of agile as a methodology and mind-set complimented by a strong software, data, reporting, and/or business intelligence, development background.
