The Role and our Branch
The Curriculum, Assessment and Strategic Policy Directorate is responsible for developing an outline of Curriculum and Assessment in schools that, taking account of the needs of students, sets out the knowledge, understanding, skills, values and attitudes that students are expected to acquire and guidelines for the assessment of student achievement and setting standards of student achievement and for the assessment and certification of student achievement according to those standards.

You will develop and review Curriculum and Assessment and provide Aboriginal content education advice and expertise to support implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline (Outline). The successful applicant will monitor and review the implementation and delivery of curriculum, courses and course standards, projects and programs.
As the Principal Consultant - Aboriginal - Curriculum and Assessment, the successful applicant will develop and inform resources and professional learning to support the effective teaching of Aboriginal histories, cultures and languages. You will also organise, facilitate and coordinate information sessions for staff from schools, regions, professional associations and school systems/sector and conducts teacher seminars, as required.

Your written application will be assessed against the following Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated high-level knowledge of Curriculum and Assessment in the context of the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline.
- Demonstrated high-order conceptual and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated substantial project and program management skills, including the ability to implement processes to facilitate monitoring, reporting and successful delivery and objectives in a timely manner, and develop resources and professional learning to support the effective teaching of Aboriginal histories, cultures and languages.
- Demonstrated highly-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in undertaking consultation, stakeholder engagement, collaboration and negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership.
