About the role

Reporting to the General Manager - Corporate Development we are seeking an experienced mining professional to play an integral role in the growth of Gold Road as a business.

As a technical specialist and senior leader, based in the Perth office the Principal Corporate Development is responsible for working within the Corporate Development team to assess Corporate Development opportunities, including undertaking due diligence, attending site visits, running technical models that support financial models to facilitate economic valuations, and attending mining conferences to identify opportunities.

As a technical specialist within Gold Road, the role will be required to support technical review and optimisation of Gruyere and business improvement opportunities to maximise the value of the Gruyere JV.

Gold Road is focused on Growth, as a technical expert, the successful applicant has the potential to grow with the business into a future operational or managerial role. The role will support management and the board in making strategic investment decisions.

This role is offered on a permanent basis and will be based in our West Perth Office.

To compliment current skills within Gold Road, the ideal candidate will have primary qualifications and experience in geology or metallurgy (or similar) with extensive operational, project studies and development experience, be competent in financial analysis at a managerial level, and have a broad understanding of the risk and value drivers of gold mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking technical due diligence of assets, including the validity of studies, models, operational plans, reviewing performance of existing mining operations and assessing opportunities and risks considering potential optimisation or expansion
• Attending site visits as part of due diligence activities for corporate opportunities
• Assisting with the development of technical and financial models to facilitate economic valuations or corporate opportunities
• Attending events to identify potential Corporate Development opportunities
• Playing a key role in takeover defence activities, including assisting with internal financial models of company assets and conducting scenario analysis
• Assisting the technical team in reviewing proposed life of mine plans, ongoing studies, resource and reserve estimates, QAQC operations
• Taking a lead role in managing or reviewing ongoing technical studies and estimations at the Gruyere Joint Venture and on Gold Road's extensive exploration tenure to assist in determining optimal long-term benefit for the company
• Assisting the investor relations team on marketing materials and ASX announcements as necessary

About yourself

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor of Geology or Metallurgy (other disciplines may be considered)
• Financial modelling competency, with commercial acumen, a strong focus on commercial needs of a business
• Proven senior management experience in mine operating environments in Australia, North America and elsewhere
• Demonstrated experience in technical studies
• Ability to recognise business risks and opportunities and act in the best interest of stakeholders
• Strong organisational and conceptual planning skills
• An extensive network of industry contacts
