In everything we do, we take an approach to protect, grow and innovate WA’s economy, community and environment.About the opportunityThere is currently one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling.We are looking for a Principal Economist with at least 5 years professional experience to lead KDC’s work marshalling economic data and analysis to help the Kimberley achieve a more prosperous and resilient future.Working with a multidisciplinary team of development professionals, you will have lead responsibility for delivery of economic advice on Kimberley development issues within government, and for presentation of economic analysis to the Kimberley community.This will include research and analysis on key indicators of economic and social development; preparation of internal briefings and external reports; collaboration across the community and the regional development portfolio on economic challenges and reforms; and coordination of major projects involving economic and/or financial modelling. You will engage in comprehensive research and analysis of quantitative and qualitive data, shaping a robust evidence base that informs strategic decision-making.
