THE ROLE
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will provide highly technical leadership and expertise to guide junior engineers in project work, designs, and technical problem-solving. Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage a team of engineers, providing guidance and support throughout project lifecycles
- Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate project requirements and propose innovative solutions
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and apply them to enhance our services and offerings
- Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to provide regular updates on project progress
ABOUT YOU
You will be a highly skilled and motivated engineer, with a proactive and innovative mindset, constantly seeking opportunities for business development and introducing new market trends and innovations. As a successful candidate seeking a long-term role, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Electrical Engineering Degree (Australian Accredited)
- RPEQ/V qualified (or the ability to obtain in first 12 months)
- Expertise in Power System analysis, including Load flow, Short Circuit, Protection Coordination, Arc flash assessment, and Harmonic analysis (ADVANTAGE)
- Proficiency in software packages such as SKM PTW, ETAP, PowerFactory, PSCAD, and PSSE (ADVANTAGE)
- Experience in HV and LV Substation Design, encompassing primary and secondary systems (ADVANTAGE)
- Extensive experience in developing reports, specifications, and technical papers in a professional engineering environment
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to guide and support junior engineers in project work, designs, and technical problem-solving.
- In-depth knowledge of International Standards, Australian Standards, and relevant legislative requirements.
