Job DescriptionAECOM has an exciting opportunity for a
Principal Lines Engineer to join our '
Transmission & Distribution' team in Sydney.Our energy business across Australia and New Zealand is fast responding to, and rapidly transitioning to a low carbon and renewable energy future. We are seeing unprecedent investment in utility scale renewable energy projects and decarbonisation opportunities across our client base.The Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer will be responsible to work with and across a strong Transmission and Distribution Team and to provide the appropriate technical support, business development and deliver quality project outcomes on time and on-budget delivery.What will a day in this role look like:
- Carrying out Line route planning and selection using ArcGIS.
- Using PLS-CADD to carry out design of transmission and distribution lines from feasibility and concept stage to detailed and construction designs, as well as commissioning and post-construction phases.
- Undertake Electrical design of transmission lines (for Electrical Engineers).
- Undertaking modelling of structures using PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE and design of respective foundations (for Civil/Structural Engineers).
- Develop construction drawings and author technical reports per AECOM and Client standards and guidelines.
- Training and mentoring of junior design engineers.
QualificationsAs a Senior / Principal Transmission
Lines Engineer, you will possess most of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree - Electrical Engineering or Etructural Engineering
- Strong understanding of transmission line design principles, and relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Experience with PLS-CADD is a must.
- Experience with PLS-Pole and PLS-Tower is highly desirable.
- Attention to detail and proven track record of energy project delivery.
- Lines design experience - 132kV and above is ideal.
- Solar farm / windfarm connection cut-in design experience is highly desirable.
