Salary - $180 - $200k + super
Our client, a solid, dynamic gold producer, building their footprint to an exciting future, is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and forward-thinking Principal Metallurgist to join the team. The role is site-based on an 8/6 roster in the goldfields.
The Principal Metallurgist is responsible for the short- and medium-term performance of the processing facility along with providing technical expertise and direction to department personnel to ensure the processing facility operates in a safe and efficient manner, achieving required output volumes and quality.
Your duties will include:
The incumbent is responsible for the on-going improvement of the Processing facility and will be expected to:
- Manage the d execution of plant and laboratory test work.
- Analysing both plant data and laboratory results including collating data, performing calculations, investigating, and presenting information.
- Reporting conclusions developed from plant and laboratory data and making recommendations for improvements.
- Implementing improvements to the plant. Monitoring such improvements and reporting on actual performance.
- Provide technical assistance and support through direction and advice to the Process Supervisors, Metallurgists and Laboratory Supervisors.
- Show commitment to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and following through to improve plant performance and/or efficiency.
- Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgy or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- 5+ years’ experience in a Metallurgy role or similar
- 3 years’ experience in gold or base metals and milling operations
- Effective PC skills and computer literacy
- Self-motivation and the drive to succeed, working through issues and barriers.
