As our Principal Ore Reserves you will develop Ore Reserves from LoAP with a strategy that maximizes value extracted from the mining plan for the benefit of all stakeholders.
You will work closely with the Life of Asset Planning from Group Mining to deliver Reserves throughout the planning cycle. Reserve work will take into account compliance with the various codes and standards within the operational jurisdictions to ensure value benefit for all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrating responsibility for Reserve discipline (mining) and is required to coordinate multi-discipline input and appropriately resource activities in the work stream.
- Integrating and tracking cross functional initiatives that impact on reserve generation and LoAP.
- Developing of scope, specifications, processes and standards for Reserves.
- Demonstrating thought leadership and strategic thinking for Reserves.
- Creating Reserves for existing operations and projects.
- Providing specialist support to a business or function as required.
- Developing and maintaining systems to streamline Reserve process.
- Establishing standard database, planning, scheduling and reporting systems for Reserves.
- Integrating data and financial modelling to enhance Reserve capability.
- Utilizing scanning capability to keep up-to-date with technological advancements and relevant code updates to ensure health of discipline is industry leading and forward focused.
- Participating in cross functional meetings to update and share expertise with internal strategic partners (such as RDP and LoAP, Business Planning, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Corporate Finance and Long-Term Planning).
- Demonstrate behaviours in line with health, safety, and environmental standards and with the Group's values.
- Formal qualification in Mining Engineering, Mineral Economics or other relevant discipline (COM qualification)
- A Masters or PhD in relevant discipline will be highly advantageous
- Essential: Registration with the recognized body for reserve declaration (AUSIMM, SAIMM, ECSA, SACNASP)
Knowledge and Experience:
- Extensive background in mine design, planning, production scheduling and cost estimating.
- Demonstrated ability in reserve declaration for Coal mines.
- Experience using at least one of the following planning software: Comet, Deswick, Minesight, Cadsmine, Vulcan or Datamine.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the entire mining value chain and influence on reserve declaration.
- Extensive experience at a senior management level within the organization.
