Principal Plumbing Inspector - NSW Fair Trading

The NSW Department of Customer Service (DCS) is looking for a Principal Plumbing Inspector to join our team!

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Issuing of PIN's for failure to comply with a written direction.
  • Monitor WHS and motor vehicle incidents to ensure that staff follow procedures and submit all required documentation to the Manager.
  • Gather information from staff about trends in plumbing practises and emerging compliance issues and provide regular reports to the Manager.
  • Respond to questions from staff in the field regarding non-compliance issues and help the Manager to develop guidance notes that educate staff on common issues.
  • Review inspection reports to ensure that they are completed appropriately and consistently.
  • Support the Manager to educate staff about changes to policies or procedures in Toolbox talks and through regular interactions with staff.
  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge of relevant standards and legislation (e.g., AS3500, Plumbing Code of Australia, National Construction Code, Fair Trading Act, Plumbing and Drainage Act).
  • Provide general feedback to the Manager on the performance of staff to assist with review processes.

Essential Criteria:

It is essential that you hold or are eligible to hold a full NSW Plumbers License and NSW Drivers License in order to be successful in this role.
