The Asset Performance team is seeking an experienced Principal Port/Maritime Professional to join their team and the role can be based in either our Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Perth Office.
Our engineering services include advanced pavement technology / design and condition surveys using our state-of-the-art equipment and our world-class research laboratory, intelligent transport systems, network operations, future mobility assessments, automated vehicles, asset management planning, sustainable materials assessments, heavy vehicles dynamics and road safety analysis.
You will have the opportunity to help shape and contribute to the maritime sector, with particular focus on port infrastructure such as terminal pavements, wharves, roadways and structures (eg. bridges, culverts, under/above ground pipelines / conveyors).
A focus on infrastructure assessment and decarbonisation of port infrastructure is central to this role – successfully converting the applied research and deep technical skills within the broader NTRO team into practical application across port infrastructure.
Main duties of the role
- You will be expected to deliver whole lifecycle of projects from inception through to completion. You will be expected to manage and lead projects with no or limited guidance or instruction
- A key focus will be liaising with industry stakeholders - you will be able to listen, accurately interpret their requirements and respond to clients in a timely manner using ‘the language of the port industry’ across the disciplines of:
- infrastructure assessment & asset management
- decarbonisation
- materials science and
- sustainability
- Work with our multi-disciplinary teams and provide technical advice for outcome focused port infrastructure solutions
- Strong working knowledge of regulated port industry coupled with an understanding of associated legislation and standards
- Highly developed commercial acumen with the ability to articulate a proposition, prepare briefs and examine a scope of work document in a timely manner
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary degree
- 10-15+ years of relevant experience in the Port industry with a focus on Marine and Landside Infrastructure and Asset Management
- Experienced and have strong understanding of port infrastructure risk assessments
- Have demonstrated program delivery experience with keen focus on balancing accountabilities across multiple projects
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, interpersonal and project management skills
- Eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
