From major renewable energy projects to high voltage direct current inter country interconnectors and offshore grids, we’re integrating a multitude of these solution elements to build a cleaner and more resilient energy future. 

As a subject matter expert you will join our highly regarded Substations Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team as a Principal Primary Engineer to play a crucial role in managing and delivering consultancy engineering services in the field of High Voltage T&D. This is an exciting opportunity to join our diverse, multicultural team, with flexibility to work from home and the office as needed.  With the summer break almost over, we intend to talk to interested parties as soon as possible, with a view of joining after the Easter break. We are excited to hear from those interested in being involved in the following:

  • Deliver the concept to detailed Design of HV substation primary systems.
  • Primary systems design - produce SLDs, HV substation layouts, equipment/materials lists, clearance checks, and short circuit force calculations.
  • Understand the critical technical aspects of projects, implementation, and integration for complex systems.
  • Site visits, assessment surveys, etc., as required.
  • Effectively shape the vision of the technical practice based on future focused insights, thought leadership and Jacobs’ goals.  
  • Offer technical expertise in Sales and proactively participate in Client engagement and business development opportunities.
  • Oversee technical assessments on a variety of difficult national and international projects and provide quality assurance of technical outputs.
  • Contribute to a learning environment, support fellow engineers, with the opportunity to offer mentoring, be mentored and take advantage of career development opportunities.
  • Passionate about contributing to the field of Transmission & Distribution.
