About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists as a leader within the Communication Team, Early Childhood Division.
We are on the lookout for an experienced and agile AO8 Principal Program Officer to lead the Communication Team to deliver key priority work of the Early Childhood Division through strategic communication. This role is highly responsive through responding to ministerial requests, coordinating events, and producing high quality designs and presentations for internal and external briefings. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who thinks creatively to develop strategise, solve problems, employs managerial skills and high levels of organisation to keep teams on track to deliver outcomes.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
* Provide leadership and management of strategic projects and communication initiatives to support the quality of early childhood education and care in Queensland to the sector and the public more broadly.
* Lead the development of high-quality communication materials and deliver responsive communication services for a range of departmental clients within an account management framework.
* Provide expert communications advice to program areas on strategies to best inform and educate audiences on complex and sensitive issues, including adapting a range of messages to public and internal audiences.
* Prepare materials to support development of major policy papers, cabinet submissions, briefings, reports and other documents on strategic early childhood education and care and communication initiatives.
* Apply high level skills to communicate effectively, consult and negotiate persuasively to achieve desired outcomes on strategic policy and communication issues and facilitate stakeholder meetings and briefings to senior management.
* Identify and develop creative solutions in response to emerging strategic communication issues that may impact on the Division's activities.
