The Technology and Systems Delivery PMO is a high performing group of project delivery professionals who support the strategic goals of Translink by delivering a program of transformational projects that leverage technology to create better business and customer outcomes.
The purpose of the Principal Project Advisor is to initiate and manage transformation projects (medium to high complexity) as part of the Translink Delivery PMO.
Some of your responsibilities will include
- Project Initiation and Planning: Establish and manage new projects, including setting up necessary registers, templates, repositories, and tools. Develop key project management documents and initial plans for the startup and initiation stages and manage or delegate these projects as they progress.
- Comprehensive Project Management: Oversee project activities and resources to meet objectives within set timeframes and budgets. This includes close liaison with all stakeholders, managing risks, issues, and dependencies, and ensuring regular and accurate reporting.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to TMR and government standards, including producing necessary project management artefacts. Work with the PMO Controls and Assurance area to establish appropriate project governance and assurance activities, including updates to the Technology & Strategy Board and meeting gating requirements.
- Administrative and Vendor Management: Maintain project schedules and registers in line with internal governance and compliance practices. Manage project administration tasks and oversee third-party vendors to ensure timely and standard compliant delivery of services/products. Handle other related accountabilities and tasks as directed.
- Delivery PMO Support: Support the induction of new team members into the Delivery PMO's tools and processes. Assist in developing and updating these tools, templates, and processes, and support the Pm Lead in various reporting and presentation tasks. Provide backup support for other Project Managers as needed.

Requirements of the role
- Project Management Experience: 3-5 years of project management experience within a large-scale program/portfolio context, particularly in delivering key transformation projects with significant technology components, preferably in government or passenger transport industries.
- Qualifications and Methodology Expertise: Possession of PRINCE2 or other relevant project management qualifications, with a detailed understanding of project/program management methodologies, gateways, and best practices.
- Vendor Management Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in managing vendors effectively, both during procurement and project implementation phases.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Project Server/Online, and high-level digital collaboration skills, including the use of the O365 suite for project work, reporting, and continuous improvement in a distributed team environment.
