Mott MacDonald's Project Strategy & Delivery team successfully integrates our Infrastructure Advisory, Economics, and Project Management experience to deliver effective outcomes in all sectors across the full infrastructure lifecycle.
The Opportunity
Our Project team are recruiting a Principal Project Controller in our Brisbane Office to join our growing Project Strategy & Delivery portfolio. We have a growing pipeline of work across predominantly transport and energy for a variety of clients, government and associated authorities. Working alongside project managers, design managers, commercial managers and subcontractors, you will play a vital part in:
- Executing the delivery of project controls services to support the project team.
- Accurate and insightful reporting of project controls for our project team including with direct engagement of technical professionals.
- Identifying risks and contributing to a risk mitigation strategy and action plan.
- Understand and consider contractual terms and regimes as they relate to establishing suitable cost control in collaboration with project leaders
- Collaborating with commercial managers and project leaders to develop and administer sub-contracts including integration with forecasting and cost control activities
- Presenting at governance meeting on controls data including cost, time, risk and reporting.
- Providing input and feedback on development and ongoing maintenance of project control systems.
- Cost baseline creation, update, and analysis; resource demand and supply analysis.
- Undertaking targeted / support interventions to raise awareness and improve project controls capability across the broader project teams
- Adhering to and executing the project controls services in-line with the Mott MacDonald and project specific Project Controls Management Plans.
About you
- Previous work experience monitoring and controlling project budgets, schedules, and resources.
- Strong verbal and written commercial skills, in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office productivity tools (Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, Word).
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with technical professionals in a consulting environment will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience collating and analysing data from several disparate sources to prepare singular succinct and accurate reports through Excel Power Query or similar tools will be advantageous.
- Bachelor's Degree holder (Preferably Project Management, Accounting, or Commerce).
- Experience in scheduling using Primavera 6 (P6) or similar software will be appreciated but is not necessary.
