The OpportunitySenex are looking for a
Project Controls Lead to work within our infrastructure delivery team.The role will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of cost and time forecasts and supporting the PMs to routinely review and update risk controls and risk registers, to enable us to deliver a $500M program of work, which will support the successful completion of the 60PJ p.a. target by FY25.The role will be responsible to ensure that systems required for efficient and accurate control of cost, time and risk are identified and implemented where approved by Senex.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the weekly and monthly reporting function for Infrastructure Delivery
- Ensure cost control and schedule are integrated within Infrastructure Delivery and that cost forecasts reflect schedule milestones.
- Lead the integration of cost and schedule with Program Integration team and manage the interface with Senex Finance Team where this is required
- Ensure cost, schedule and cashflow forecasts and accruals accurately reflect works completed and contractor invoicing plan.
- Support cost controllers to complete efficient interrogation of the monthly ledger costs to ensure correctly coded in conjunction with Program Cost Manager
- Support project manager with management of project risk registers, managing and updating controls and risk to ensure risk register accurately reflects forecast cost and schedule impact ie project risk, cost and time are triangulated and reporting the same outcome.
- Manage interface with C&P Team where project control functions is relying on C&P to provide timely, accurate information in relation to invoicing and work completed during the month.
- Support the justification and approval of systems to support cost forecasting and schedule control
- Improve accuracy of cost, schedule forecasting and risk register.
- Lead the preparation of monthly project cost report.
- Work with Senior Project Manager/s to ensure PMs are supporting accurate and timely completion of cost and schedule reporting and update of risk register and controls.
- Identify opportunities to utilise Power BI and or Sap Analytics Cloud to improve data availability to PMs.
- Ensure project funding is forecast and support the PMs to complete timely requests for supplementary funding where this is required.
- Support the Program Integration Team with the development and implementation of the Cost, Schedule and Risk Management Framework/s.
Leadership- Provide leadership and mentoring to staff performing planning, cost control and integration of digital tools;
- Establish a schedule and work program peer review process.
Experience required- 10+ years' experience, working within roles in a multidisciplinary team for the front end, feasibility, and permitting and approvals phases of projects in the construction, energy, resource or oil and gas industries.
- Experience in leading Project Controls teams in large programs of work, preferably in the gas, mining or construction industry.
- Competent in developing and managing detailed cost reports using PRISM or other project cost analysis and reporting software.
- Competent in risk management, preferably with some experience in quantitative risk assessment (QRA) and how contingency is managed in the cost and schedule forecasting process.
- Advanced understanding of P6 and integration of P6 with cost management/analysis software.
- Advanced user of Excel.
- Knowledge of @Risk addin for Excel.
- Competent in using cost analysis and reporting tools such as PRISM.
- A good working knowledge of the main disciplines involved in front end project development and stage gate processes.
- Advanced scheduling and excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
- Good written and verbal presentation skills including report writing and development of robust business cases to support decisions.
