This management role leads, plans and delivers services for the management of estates and programs within the QPWS Central West area, Central Region. The position provides high level support to the Regional Director, Central Region.
As Principal Ranger Central West, you will:

  • Develop and implement business and operational plans for the effective management of the QPWS estate.
  • Ensure Regional plans support QPWS strategic outcomes and provide feedback • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team
  • Liaise and negotiate where appropriate with other agency units to ensure activities and functions are in accordance with QPWS policies and processes.
  • Manage providing operational support and resources across a geographically dispersed area.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely input of information into divisional and regional reporting systems
  • Build and maintain working relationships and consultative processes with internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead and participate in committees, boards and at other meetings relevant to the agency
  • Provide precise and effective financial administration.
  • Report on program activities and operational plan progress and outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with legislative obligations and statutory requirements.
  • Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people
Travel will be required from time to time. This includes overnight stays in remote and isolated areas.
