ABOUT PERTH OFFICE
South32's corporate office is based in the heart of Perth's CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent full-time position, Monday through Friday. The preferred applicant should ideally be located in our main office in Perth, while alternative locations may be considered.
The Principal Social Performance is responsible for applying South32's Social Performance approach across our Operations and Functions. The principal has knowledge of current and emerging social issues and helps resolve social risks, solve intricate problems, and create value for our stakeholders and South32.
Reporting to Manager Social Performance other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

• Engage and influence operations and functions to build understanding and effective implementation of Social Performance requirements.
• Provide technical advice on a broad range of Social Performance requirements.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of Social Performance governance, reporting and communication.
• Monitor societal expectations and trends in the resource sector and contribute to the continuous improvement of our approach to Social Performance.

ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Extensive Social Performance experience in the resources sector or related industry.
• Understanding of current and emerging social issues for the resources sector and ability to communicate the implications of these issues.
• Demonstrated application of strategic analysis and influencing skills to achieve solutions to complex Social Performance risks and opportunities.
• Proven ability to develop effective working with relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
• High level written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Bachelor's degree (minimum)
