The Opportunity
The Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat is a globally-significant program that will deliver a disruptive advantage to support Defence operational capabilities.
As we continue to accelerate the development program, and expand the aircraft flight envelope through the test program, we are seeking the very best talent from a diverse range of backgrounds to help grow and contribute to our innovative team.
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are looking for a Principal Software Engineer - to design, develop, integrate and test software in the mission system and electronic warfare domains.
This role is based at in the Brisbane CBD.
As a Principal Software Engineer within BDA, you will
* Lead activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
* Lead development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.
* Develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
* Provide technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities.
* Lead development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics.
* Plan, execute and document software research and development projects.
* Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
* Tracks and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Strong Object-Oriented Design, C++ and Python skills.
* Skills or domain knowledge in mission systems, electronic warfare, electronic sensors & sensor integration, messaging protocols and data exchange.
* Prior experience utilising Computer Generated Forces (CGF) simulation applications, including open simulation standards like DIS and HLA.
* Strong past experience in software development for Defence software applications.
* Familiarity with model-based systems engineering, modelling & simulation.
* Proven ability in extensive stakeholder engagement both internal to the organisation, as well as with customers and partners across Australia and abroad, in order to achieve balanced and appropriate outcomes.
* Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering and/or Computer Science.
