  • Possess a relevant engineering degree (or equivalent) and RPEQ Accreditation.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and proven experience in hydrologic and/or hydraulic assessments, floodplain risk management and infrastructure design
  • Other areas of expertise may include dambreak simulation, CFD modelling, scour assessment, and waterway design
  • Have extensive knowledge of relevant Queensland and Australian legislation, standards, and guidelines.
  • Be skilled in multidisciplinary integration.
  • Maintain strong market knowledge, client relationships, and a track record in finding, bidding, winning, and delivering water resources projects.
  • Exhibit an inclusive mindset, enjoy collaborating in diverse teams across geographies, and the ability to guide and mentor team members.
  • Be adaptable and open-minded, willing to embrace change and transformation.
  • Demonstrate a passion for sustainable and innovative flood and water resources management.

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Principal Surface Water Engineer and Hydrologist to provide technical leadership and innovation in floodplain management, resilience, and sustainable infrastructure design.

As a leader within Jacobs, you will have the opportunity to grow and shape the future of our water resources business, supported by a strong established ANZ practice. Key to success in this role will be a proven technical background in flooding and water resources, an ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams, and a passion for sustainable, integrated water resources development.
