About the role
Following on from a number of significant project wins and a strong pipeline, the Jacobs water business is seeking a Senior Surface Water Engineer .
The Senior Surface Water Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of water resources and flooding assessments including the use of a range of modelling platforms. This may be undertaken as part of multi-disciplinary assessments and design projects or as stand-alone flooding and water resources projects. You will be responsible for management of packages of work and projects including delivery on cost, on time, to client satisfaction.
You will prepare and review reports, letters, technical notes and presentations to effectively communicate technical information to a range of audiences in a concise and professional manner. You will be involved in work winning including costing and writing proposals, and managing and expanding your client relationships.
You will be responsible for quality assurance of projects, and be fully familiar with the application of Jacobs QA procedures. You will provide input to and support innovation opportunities within your technical field.
You will assist with technical leadership and mentoring to team members within project and discipline teams. You will participate in open and honest feedback relating to project and team performance issues. Key to this role will be mentoring and liaising with GID team members in order to improve delivery capability to meet targets.
Here's What You'll Need:
- Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in water resources and infrastructure design and delivery.
- Relevant Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant industry Chartership/Accreditation.
- Sound market knowledge, the ability to build strong client relationships, and the acumen to identify, bid, win, and deliver water sector projects.
- Ability and willingness to guide and mentor team members.
- Successful candidates will have an inclusive mindset and enjoy collaborating across geographies as part of diverse teams.
- Be a strong communicator across the various platforms which make for a truly flexible workplace.
- Be open-minded and willing to adapt with change and transformation. Demonstrate a passion for the water industry.
About the team
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established thriving business with a strong pipeline of projects. The current opportunities are predominantly based in Brisbane however, you will be joining a truly connected ANZ Water Solutions business who provide the full suite of consulting services from advisory and engineering through to operations and asset management.
The Jacobs water business has water infrastructure and water resources capability in every major city around Australia working across a multitude of markets such as Utilities, Government, Transport, Resources, and Energy Transitioning to name a few.
Our team is currently working on projects that have a lasting enduring positive impact on our communities such as advisory services for new water sources for agriculture, flood modelling and engineering services to enable greater connectivity, innovative space saving wastewater sludge treatment projects, and major desalination plants in response to our drying climate.
