Principle Software Engineer - Onsite - Brisbane CBD Office

WHAT WILL YOU DO? 

To provide a high level of service to the business through development of high-quality IT systems which drive the long term vision of the company and in doing so, support our growth target, sales plan, and customer satisfaction through delivery of our IT Roadmap.

Duties and Responsibilities‎

  • Solving technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguity
  • Have extensive experience (10+ years) working in a wide range of technology tools and products (Java, C#, Kubernetes, Flux, GitOps, Angular, Flutter, eventing systems, API Gateway).
  • Know when you need to get your hands dirty and get on the tools, regardless of the tool.
  • Working closely with the Security/Operations team (we practice DevOps and GitOps) to ensure we manage; security, performance, reliability
  • Working across our product delivery teams, helping with design challenges, establishing patterns, and uplifting engineering maturity.
  • This is an engineering role, and you will be cutting code. You’ll be pairing when you code or implementing patterns with the teams so that they can take collaboratively discovered solutions and run with them.
  • Creating clear and useful documentation of system architecture, design patterns, and data models
  • Level of Responsibility (SFIA Level 5: Ensure, advise)
  • Systems and software life cycle engineering SLEN (Level 5)
  • Systems development management DLMG (Level 5)
  • Programming/software development PROG (Level 5)
  • Solution architecture ARCH (Level 5)
  • Systems integration and build SINT (Level 5)

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED? 

We know you will have a wide range of skills and experience, but we think the most important are; 

  • 7+ years experience within the IT field
  • A collaborative approach to Software Engineering, understanding that everybody has a part to play and supporting them as well as challenging yourself to produce your best work.  
  • Great communication skills, able to work with technical and non-technical individuals within the team 
  • An understanding that mistakes happen and that they are learning opportunities to improve ourselves, dedicated to continuous improvement of self and team. 
  • Passion and energy for your industry, with a strong client focus (internal and external) 
  • Extensive recent experience within a Software Engineering position, responsible for any of these areas of the SDLC – application support, business modelling, configuration management, database design, software configuration, design, integration, testing and release & deployment. 
  • Cloud exposure – preferably GCP but do have elements of Azure and AWS also within our tech stack 
  • Database knowledge
