Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year + super
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Private Gardener to join us and take on the exciting challenge of maintaining various home gardens across various locations in NSW.
About the Role:
As a Private Gardener, you will be working alongside our Landscape Designer to maintain and develop various gardens in Sydney and a picturesque farm property located 1.5 hours from Sydney. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the continuing establishment, peak condition and beauty of the gardens and landscape, maintaining the highest standards of visual presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Curate and enhance the gardens, some of which are in establishment stage.
• Conduct routine pruning, weeding, mulching, planting, fertilising, monitoring and treating pests and diseases, and turf maintenance.
• Knowledge of the seasonal needs of various plants.
•Mow and edge turf grass.
•Maintain irrigation systems and ensure plants are watered for optimal health.
• Maintain a tidy outdoor environment by collecting leaves and removing cuttings.
• Maintain tools and garden equipment including mowers.
• Ensure the availability and proper functioning of necessary tools. Tools and equipment will be provided.
• Uphold the overall cleanliness and presentation of outdoor spaces including paving, other external surfaces, water features.
• Be adaptable and ready to perform additional duties as requested.
•Activities to comply with Occupational Work and Safety Regulation 2001 (safe use of pesticides etc).
Working Conditions:
Hours: Typically Monday-Friday, 7am -3pm.
Locations: Main base will be in Bronte, with additional gardens nearby and a farm property 1.5 hours from Sydney. Potential for seasonal visits to a Kangaroo Island property also.
Requirements:
• Full driver's license and personal transport.
• Valid visa for the duration of the contract.
•Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role, supported by references.
•Horticultural qualifications preferred.
• Demonstrate pride in your work, the product of which will reflect your high standard of horticultural knowledge and ability, motivation for exceptional results, resourcefulness, effective communication, and a proactive approach.
Remuneration and Benefits:
• Competitive salary range of $75,000 - $80,000 per year plus superannuation.
