Our client is a global manufacturer of oil and lubricants for the automotive and industrial applications industries. They are trusted for their high performance and quality of manufactured products and have been maintaining their brands commitment to specialisation, innovation and collaboration.
A rare opportunity has arisen for a Process Chemist to join their team. The role requirements include all Process Chemist operations undertaken to company and legislative standards. Immediate start is available.
Required Technical Duties:
- Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret results

- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Able to work with minimal supervision

- Must display high degree of flexibility
- Strong team player with the ability to relate to all levels in the work environment
- A proactive approach to problem solving and an ability to apply such skills to solve production and quality related problems
Duties Include:
- Ensure that Raw Materials (additives and base oils), and lubricants manufactured and warehoused by the Facility are tested to the required technical specifications, GMP requirements and Quality Standards by effective utilisation of current quality procedures and practices in accordance with the Quality, Environmental and Technical Management Systems
- Testing and analysis of raw materials, finished oils, greases and speciality products (as applicable) using available testing equipment to achieve the specified level of quality control
- Products tested in a timely and cost efficient manner
- Ensure non-conforming products are not released to the marketplace
- Understanding of lubricant QC testing methods
- Provide customers with C of A as required for manufactured and imported products
- Commission and validate equipment, test methods and processes as required
- Issue accurate and timely blend sheets along with written instructions
- Liaise with production to help overcome production related problems that may impact on product quality
About you
Essential Criteria:
- 0-3 Years' Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing control laboratory
- Sound working knowledge of general laboratory practices and procedures
- A good understanding of scientific principles and an ability to apply these to the work environment
- Good knowledge of computers and competent mathematical skills
- Experience with quality records and Standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 17025)
Desirable Criteria:
- Sound knowledge of the lubricants manufacturing environment i.e. procurement, blending, filling and packaging, and dispatch procedures
- Good HSSE awareness applicable to laboratory operations
Essential Criteria:
- Formal tertiary qualification in a Science related field is necessary
