What you'll be doing
The Process Development Scientist is a newly created position within the exciting, NSW Department of Health funded, clinical grade viral vector manufacturing initiative, for the generation of gene-based therapeutics.
The Process Development Scientist will assist in the development of procedures and assays in support of the manufacture of AAV- and LV-based gene therapy vectors for use in clinical trials.
Under the supervision of the Process Development Leads the Process Development Scientist will:
Assist in the development of upstream and downstream production processes.
Assist in the technology transfer of processes to the GMP-cleanroom facility
Assist in the design, development and conduct of quality control assays relevant for gene therapy vectors
Additional information:
An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.
Science Degree or equivalent relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biological or health sciences.
Prior practical experience in cell and tissue culture of adherent and suspension mammalian cells.
Demonstrated skills in the preparation of biological samples for testing, including DNA, RNA and protein extraction.
Demonstrated skills in undertaking highly technical assays such as cell based biological assays, qPCR, Western blotting, flow cytometry. ELISA, chromatography.
Demonstrated effective, collaborative and professional communication skills, time management skills and timely delivery of required deliverables.
Experience in documentation of science based, technical protocols and processes.
Desirable: Knowledge of developing, qualifying and/or validation of qPCR or ELISA assays.
Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for Human Blood & Tissues or Biologics as well as relevant clinical trial frameworks in one or more of ANZ, US or EU.
