As a Process Improvement Analyst work alongside the Planning and Development Support Officers, you will be responsible for undertaking the documentation, analysis and suggested improvement of the administration tasks the team complete on behalf of the wider department. This role will involve documenting the ‘as is' process in Councils process mapping software and, where appropriate, using a continuous improvement mindset to look for improvements and efficiencies where possible.
What you'll be doing:
Utilising Council's existing process documentation tool (Promapp) to map and record the current state processes of the Planning and Development Support team.
Consolidate like for like processes across supported areas of the Planning and Development Support team to create centralised process centres of excellence.
Work with Councils implementation partners to document new and incoming processes as part of existing and ongoing departmental enhancement projects.
Identify opportunities for collaboration between teams to ensure work types are directed to the correct teams via workflow Process Improvements.
Refine and consolidate processes where simple and purposeful to do so.
Working with impacted and supported stakeholders to make improvement suggestions and recommendations based on quantitative evidence and analysis.
Key skills and experience you'll bring to the role:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
An inquisitive and investigative approach to documenting and analysing processes.
Demonstrated experience in process documentation or continuous improvement.
Skill and experience in documenting and simplifying complex processes.
Demonstrated ability to prepare written correspondence and documentation for diverse groups of audiences.
Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a busy office environment along with stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
