Processing Superintendent
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Processing Superintendent to join our team at Tomingley Gold, in Central West NSW.
Reporting to the, Process Manager the Process Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the processing facility. The main objectives of the position include:
- Leading and managing the operations team in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Active collaboration on project integration and commissioning activities to ensure seamless implementation of new projects.
- Ensure that resources are developed and opportunities to improve the business are actively sought and progressed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach and mentor your team whilst supporting their development and professional goals;
- Safely and proactively execute short term production plans to maximise equipment utilisation and achieve targets;
- Work closely with the Processing team and Fixed Plant Maintenance teams to ensure optimised, efficient product flow;
- Lead a safe working culture, whilst ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety standards.
- Balance operational productivity with plant maintenance requirements.
- Oversee shift supervisors and plant operators and build organisational capability through coaching, training, and feedback to enhance skills.
- Limit process interruptions and co-ordinate with shutdown planning.
- Seek ongoing improvement to processing systems to deliver efficient plant operations.

Along with high level communication skills, both verbal and written, you will utilise a broad professional network to drive results and work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
Additionally, you have:
- Proven experience in performing in a similar role within a processing environment (i.e. Superintendent or Managerial)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and the environment.
- Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to the role, incl:
- Work Health and Safety Act 2020,
- Work Health and Safety (Mines).
- Sound computer literacy including all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of Pronto or equivalent CMMS

Tomingley Gold Mine, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated near the village of Tomingley, 50 km south of Dubbo in Central New South Wales. We have recently celebrated over 10 years of operation. Our current operation runs an underground mine, and a 1.2Mtpa processing plant that is responsible for producing gold bullion on-site. The mine's workforce consists of over 260 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing and trades.
One significant development for the Tomingley Gold Mine, is the approval for the expansion of both open-cut and underground mines, 3 km to the south of the existing Tomingley deposits. This development approval and expansion takes the mine life beyond 2031.
