Outstanding opportunity to join a leader in the Australian poultry industry as a Processing Supervisor on a full-time, permanent basis. This company has been in operation since 1938 and is renowned for its long-standing family history and "local business" reputation.
Your new role
In your new role as a Senior Processing Supervisor, you will report directly to the Group Leader and will be responsible for meeting all operational requirements in the department and planning, administering and reviewing the manufacturing processes.
The role involves a mix of hands-on knowledge, production management, leadership and strategic skills.
10% hands on / task knowledge
- Working on the line/process. Leading by example.
30% production management
- Issuing instructions, planning breaks, monitoring product quality, monitoring throughput, machine performance, order completion & safety
40% leadership and personnel management
- Monitoring and supporting the team, on the job training, leading, monitoring rotations and ensuring compliance with all safety aspects within the department
- Ensure appropriate training provided, ensure the team follows policies, creating a positive and inclusive culture, holding people accountable consistently, fairly and in 'real time'
- Illustrating and developing open, honest communication within the team, including providing feedback in 'real time
20% strategic skills
- Planning (long range), goal setting, enhancing opportunities and overcoming threats, change management
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must have
- At least 2 years experience in a leadership role, preferably FMCG
- Demonstrated skills in Business Management and in leading high-performing teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent understanding of food processing/manufacturing and OH&S principles
