About the opportunity:
We have an opportunity for an individual experienced in purchasing and Inventory management to join our team in the key role of Procurement Officer / Inventory Controller. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, in this role you will be responsible for all Inventory Management and Production Support which will involve the Procurement and logistics of materials to ensure manufacturing delivery targets are achieved. You will apply a strong focus to quality control of outgoing products and OH&S procedures within the business. You’ll support the parts supply needs of the Service division as well as supporting the Engineering Manager with the broader needs of the Production team to ensure optimal performance is achieved.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- All aspects of Inventory Management, Procurement and associated controls
- The purchase of raw materials, workshop consumables and sub-contract services such as powder-coating
- Inbound quality control measures, liaising with suppliers on pricing and lead times, processing invoices
- Arranging and managing logistics of air freight and sea shipments
- Ensure accurate system receipting of all incoming material and parts
- Manage periodic stock takes including preparation and variance investigation
- Responsible for coordinating on-time spare parts manufacture / supply to the Service Department
- Supporting the assembly of doors and allied products
- On time production and assembly of all customer orders in line with expected outcomes and deadlines
About you:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an inventory management or purchasing role
- Demonstrated exposure to and an understanding of warehouse/inventory operations
- Relevant industry experience with a knowledge of allied products in the manufacturing sector
- Effective communication and influencing capability
- Strong safety mindset in all facets of work
- Be reliable, punctual & hardworking
- Holds current drivers licence
- Hold forklift Licence (favourable)
