Job description

As our Procurement Assurance Lead, you'll be undertaking procurement planning and sourcing activities with finesse. You'll lead the initial procurement engagement with our Customers , conducting market research, consulting with stakeholders, and crafting winning solutions that make a difference. This position will develop, deliver and support business critical strategies and related sourcing activities through proactive engagement with key business stakeholders and the external market to ensure value for money outcomes.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Directly manage a procurement analyst to deliver enhanced reporting, processes and systems and indirectly support and coach a team of multiple disciplined specialists providing procurement advisory services.
  • Build and deliver a capability program that enhances customers knowledge, understanding and ability to procure/seek value for money and manage risk appropriately.
  • Oversee all transformation, improvement and innovation initiatives managed by the Procurement Assurance team.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to the Procurement Manager and Director,  Procurement and Commercial Services and other senior members of the organisation on key performance indicators, transformational progress and assurance activities.

This is a permanent full time role based in Gasworks Plaza, Brisbane. Working with a family-friendly team, we offer a supportive hybrid work environment with flexible work from home arrangements. About you

You will work with an experienced manager, who is invested in your development, and will support you with a seat at the table to voice your ideas and expertise. You will work with varied value contracts, adding diversity to your knowledge base and existing procurement skill set.

You have a creative approach to proactively and independently solve problems, and to generate new ideas. You’re comfortable working in an autonomous manner, whilst also being an enthusiastic team player. You display good communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization. The role holder will be self motivated and self directed, with the ability to handle a number of tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.

In return, we are looking for:

  • Degree qualification in Supply, Procurement, Business, Law or similar discipline within a commercial field or MCIPS accreditation or a lesser qualification coupled with demonstrated leadership experience, within a procurement and supply function.
  • 7 – 10 year as a procurement lead
  • Experience in developing processes, implementation of systems and assurance frameworks and reporting

Power BI experience is highly desirable though not mandatory as on the job training will be provided.
