Form of workMy client a global underground mining services provider are seeking a hands on Procurement & Logistics Manager, with their head office based in the northern suburbs of Perth.
My client provides consumables to most of the tier one mining underground producers globally .
The suitable candidate must have an understanding of the mining industry, consumables, managing shipments, lease with suppliers, build relationships and have good people skills.
LOGISTICS
Managing shipments – liaise with agents and suppliers internationally.
Order consolidation – contract freight forwarder for rates upon final confirmation
Master shipping report
Clearance documentation for arrivals into Australia
Managing shipment and ensuring keep stakeholders are informed
Optimizing shipping for space efficiencies and cost allocations
Commercial documentation for international shipments in line with import/export requirements

Management and updating of purchase orders and shipments in ERP
PROCUREMENT
Manage team responsible for local procurement
Undertake international procurement – International sourcing, and tendering.
Liaise with internal stakeholders for updates on goods
Liaise with Finance for spend approvals
Relationship management with external stakeholders
Liaise with suppliers
Negotiating contract pricing with suppliers
Manage buffer stock requirements with international suppliers – ground support and rock tools
Establish new buffer stock agreements for international suppliers
Responsible for developing Procurement processes, procedures, activities, and resourcing and identifying and implementing improvements in a manner that reflects best practice.
Manage the performance of key suppliers by managing and controlling the key processes and strategies for supplier contact, negotiation, selection, management, development, and quality.
Responsible for the appropriate supplier selection for purchase requests, supplier, and contract pricing validation
Management and updating of purchase orders in ERP
Suitable candidate must have 8 plus years experience in a similar position, must be highly driven and work autonomously.
