Procurement Manager - Government

Government department tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking a Procurement Manager to join their busy team for a 12-month temporary assignment.About the roleAs a Procurement Manager, you will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the procurement and contract management functions. In addition, your key duties are as follow:

• Working collaboratively with business areas as a procurement business partner, and managing a team to develop market approach documentation, evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts.
• Lead an integrated approach to identifying procurement requirements early in the process, including supporting the planning activities within the wider team.
• Ensure procurement activities are conducted in line with legislative requirements
• Deliver support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Agency policies and procedures.
• Manage regular policy and process reviews for continuous business improvement
• Ensure corporate contracts are managed effectively and deliver value for money outcomes.

About youTo be successful in this role, you must have:

• Proven experience in a similar procurement role, ideally within a leadership capacity
• Federal or State Government experience is a must!
• Relevant qualifications in Commonwealth Procurement is highly regarded
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain composed in a changing, fast paced environment

• $602.55 per day + super

• Brisbane, QLD location
